An eight-year-old girl who was killed in County Wexford on Sunday will be laid to rest as soon as her body is released by Gardaí.
Imam Rashid Munir of the Waterford Islamic Centre said Malika's mother, who was also injured in the incident, will attend the burial.
"That mother, she's out of danger now," he said. "She's not in critical condition, but she's in bits.
"Obviously, it's not easy [that] somebody has to suffer this.
"We are ready to bury her, but still it's very sad, but nobody wants to bury their own child."
Malika Noor Al Katib died following a stabbing incident at her home in New Ross, Co Wexford three days ago.
Gardaí are continuing to question a man in his 30s suspected of her murder.
The man - who was recently released from hospital - is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Eastern region of the country.
Malika was assaulted on Sunday and passed away in the early hours of Monday morning after she was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
Investigations into the incident, which occurred at a New Ross residence on Sunday, are still ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have any information to come forward.
