A man has died in a single-vehicle collision in Kerrykeel, Co Donegal, in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí said the crash occurred shortly after 3.30am when the car collided with a pole on the roadside.
The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed.
The passenger of the car is currently in hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The R246 road in Ranny is currently closed to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
They are particularly interested in anyone who was travelling on the R246 between Kerrykeel and Milford this morning between 3am and 4am and has video footage, including dash-cam.
