A 19-year-old man is due before Roscommon District Court this morning in connection with a stabbing incident in Castlebar, County Mayo yesterday.

A youth in his mid-teens was stabbed several times in Market Square shortly after half past one yesterday afternoon.

He was treated at Mayo General Hospital, where his injuries are described as not life threatening.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Castlebar Garda station.
