A man in his 20s has been killed in a car crash in Co. Mayo.

It happened at Carrowcastle, Bahola, Co Mayo at about 5 O’clock this evening.

The man was seriously injured when the van he was travelling in collided with a second van on the R321 at Bahola.

The man was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second man aged in his 20s was also taken to hospital, with minor injuries.

The road is closed pending a full technical examination – diversions are in place.
