A man in his 20s has died after after his car left the road and struck a wall in county Kilkenny.
The collision occurred at around 1am this morning at Knockwilliam in Ballyhale.
Gardaí and emergency services attended at the incident but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman in her 30s, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries.
There was no one else involved in the single-vehicle crash.
The scene has been preserved for examination by garda forensic collision investigators and the local Coroner has been notified.
The road is currently closed to traffic and diversions are in place.
