A elderly man has been charged over the deaths of two women whose bodies were found at a puppy farm in the UK.

John Leo Lowe (82) was arrested after police were called to Keepers Cottage Stud in Surrey.

The bodies of Christine Lee (66) and her daughter Lucy (40) were found at the property on Sunday, along with the bodies of four dogs.

Mr. Lowe faces two counts of murder and a charge of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Police say he has been remanded in custody and will appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

Armed officers were called to Keepers Cottage Stud on Sunday morning following reports a firearm had been discharged.

Police searched the area and found the bodies of the women. Four dogs were also found dead at the property with gunshot wounds.

A gun was found at the scene.

The women and the Mr. Lowe are thought to know each other, and police have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Preston said yesterday "It is extremely sad that two people have lost their lives and police family liaison officers are working to support their relatives and friends at this very difficult time".

"We are conducting a full and thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding these two deaths, however, at this time, we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the wider community" he added.
