An Irish man suspected of being "the world's largest facilitator of child porn" has been extradited to the United States.
An Garda Síochána has confirmed Eric Eoin Marques was surrendered to FBI agents at Dublin Airport on Saturday morning.
He will appear in a US court on Monday.
His extradition was sought by the United States over allegations that he conspired to distribute and advertise child pornography on the dark web.
He is accused of setting up a hosting site that allowed over 100 websites post videos and images of child abuse.
It comes just days after he lost an extradition appeal at the Supreme Court.
Mr Marques had been in custody since August 2013, when he was arrested at his apartment on Mountjoy Square in Dublin city centre.
Following his arrest, FBI Special Agent Brooke Donahue travelled to Ireland to give evidence at his extradition hearing.
He told the High Court that Mr Marques is suspected of being "the world's largest facilitator of child porn."
Mr Marques lived in New York until he was five-years-old with his Brazilian father and Irish mother, and has been in Ireland ever since.
He has dual citizenship.
His surrender was approved in 2015, but not executed to allow him to appeal the decision.
However the five judges who heard his case at the Supreme Court all ruled against him.
