A man has appeared before Dublin District Court, charged in connection with a massive drug seizure last week.
33-year-old Chang Hui Wang - a Chinese national with an address in Foxboro, Lucan Co. Dublin - was arrested last Wednesday in Mullingar following the discovery of €1.4 million worth of cannabis at a grow house in Longford.
The seizure was part of a haul worth €4.6 million, at various locations across the country.
Hui Wang was today refused bail and legal aid and Gardai have described him as a "significant figure" in relation to cannabis grow houses.
He is the eighth person to be charged in connection with the Garda investigation - Operation Nitrogen.
Hui Wang was today remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on January 27th.
