A man has been charged following a serious assault in Dublin on Sunday. 

Shortly after 11pm, Gardaí were called out to a pub on Clonsilla Road in Blanchardstown. 

A man in his 40s was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown with serious injuries and he remains in a critical condition. 

Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s and, having been charged, he is due to appear in Blanchardstown District Court this morning. 

Any witnesses have been asked to get in touch with Blanchardstown Garda Station.
