A man in his 30s has appeared in court after drugs worth over €1.9 million were seized in Dublin.
Gardaí found the illegal tablets during a number of searches in the capital on Friday under Operation Citizen.
They stopped and searched a car on the southside of the city and recovered over 10,000 Zopiclone and Alprazolam tabs worth €20,000.
A number of planned searches were then carried out across elsewhere - including a business premises in South Dublin, where more of the drugs were found.
Gardaí then searched a premises in the city centre where they found more of the same drugs.
During two further searches in the west and south of the city, they discovered cash worth €4,500 and evidence relating to the trafficking of drugs across the region.
Two men in their 30s and 50s were arrested and the man in his 30s appeared before the Criminal Court of Justice yesterday evening.
