A man will appear in court today after Gardaí discovered a firearm in Dublin on Saturday.
At 11.30 in the morning, Gardaí were called out to Vincent Street in Dublin 8 after gunfire was reported to them.
Armed units and local detectives were dispatched and a shotgun was found after Gardaí searched a number of local properties.
Two men were arrested and taken to a Garda Station for questioning.
One man, who is in his 20s, has now been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30 this morning.
The second man, who is in his 30s, has been released without charge.
A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
