A man has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of Donegal man Kyle McDermott.

The 24-year-old died on Monday morning after what police describe as an altercation in the Victoria Road area of Ballymagorry, County Tyrone the previous night.

This morning, 24-year-old Daniel Hannah of Victoria Road in Strabane appeared in person before Dungannon Magistrates Court.

During the short sitting, he spoke only to confirm he understood the charges put to him.

He's been remanded in custody and is due before the courts again at the end of the month.
