A man in his 50s has been arrested, after almost a quarter of a million euro worth of cannabis plants were seized in County Offaly.

Gardaí from Tullamore and Edenderry, assisted by the Regional Support Unit, searched a house at Coolcor in Rhode yesterday.

300 plants were seized and a 50-year-old man was arrested.

He is being held at Tullamore Garda station under the provisions Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
