Gardaí have arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of murder.
A man has been arrested in connection to the discovery of a woman's body in Sligo last week.
A woman in her fifties was discovered at a house in Sligo town shortly after 8:30pm on May 1st.
A post-mortem was conducted, the results of which Gardaí say are not being disclosed for operational reasons.
This morning, Gardaí arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of murder. He is currently being detained at a Garda station in the Northwestern region under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He can be held for up to 24 hours, after which he must be charged or released.
Gardaí said they are continuing to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the woman’s body.
