Gardai in Cork are continuing to question a man in connection with a drugs seizure yesterday. Over 600 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €480,000 were discovered during the search of a house at Ron Na Killa in Tarelton.
Gardai from the West Cork Drug Unit and officers Macroom Garda Station were involved in the raid.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bandon Garda station. He is being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act.
Gardai say there was a "sophisticated cultivation system" in operation at the scene. It remains sealed off for a technical examination.
