A man has been arrested after Gardaí found four ‘viable improvised explosive devices’ in a van in west Dublin over the weekend.
Investigators found the explosives after searching the van in the Ronanstown areas at around 3:40pm on Sunday.
The Army bomb squad was called in and safely removed the explosive devices.
A man in his 40s was arrested and is currently being held at a Garda station in Dublin under the Offences against the State Act.
Gardaí then carried out searches in the Ballyfermot and Ronanstown areas of Dublin and uncovered a small quantity of suspected cannabis and a scrambler bike.
The drugs are now being examined by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
The Garda investigation is ongoing.
