Gardaí investigating the death of a pensioner in County Clare have arrested a man in his 30s.
The man is being held at Ennis Garda Station under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
It comes after the man in his 70s was found dead at his home in Lisdoonvarna this morning.
The death was unexplained and Gardaí launched a full criminal investigation.
The State Pathologist Margaret Bolster has attended the scene which has been preserved for a technical examination.
The man’s body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí said the results of the post-mortem will direct the course of their investigation.
