A man has been arrested after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a street in north County Cork yesterday afternoon.
The attack happened at Chapel Square near Fermoy town centre at around 1:20pm yesterday afternoon.
It's understood the girl was attacked by two men as she was walking alone.
Two other young men heard the girls screams and the attackers fled when they arrived to help.
The girl was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. She is said to be traumatised.
The scene was sealed off for a forensic examination and last night a man in his 30’s was arrested for questioning.
The Garda investigation is ongoing.
