A man in his late 20s has been arrested in connection with assaulting a Garda and another man in Waterford City.
The man was detained after he attacked a man on Scotch Quay yesterday afternoon.
It happened at around 2pm.
During the incident a member of the Garda Síochána was also injured.
He was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital though his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The man arrested is currently being detained at Waterford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
