A man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of two guns, over 1,500 rounds of ammunition and shotgun cartridges in County Meath.
As part of ongoing inquiries, a residential property in Bettystown, County Meath, was searched today by Gardaí.
During the search, a 9mm CZ handgun with three fully loaded magazines was recovered along with an improvised handgun (subject to ballistic examination).
In addition to the firearms, over 1,500 rounds of ammunition were seized.
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the seizure and is currently being questioned at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region.
All seized items are subject to forensic and ballistic examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
