A man in his 40s remains in Garda custody this morning - in connection with the disappearance of a dog breeder in Cavan almost two years ago.
42 year old Gerry Daly, who's originally from Tallaght in Dublin, was last seen at his home on the outskirts of Bailieborough on June the 26th 2011.
His disappearance has been treated as a missing persons inquiry - with descriptions and photographs of Mr Daly being distributed to missing persons websites and through social media.
For almost two years the family of Gerry Daly have been appealing for information on his whereabouts. While continuing to search for Mr Daly, his family have said they fear the worst, but have vowed not to give up until they find him.
As dog breeder, Gerry Daly would have been well known to dog enthusiasts and breeders.
Yesterday morning, detectives investigating his disappearance arrested a man in his 40s for questioning.
He's being held at Carrickmacross Garda Station in County Monaghan.
