A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary in Co Limerick almost two years ago.
In the early hours of 3rd May 2018, gardaí responded to reports of a burglary at a shop in Cloonreask, Askeaton.
Suspects had removed a safe from the shop - however, gardaí found it outside the building with the contents still inside.
Shortly after, a car with false registration plates crashed between Adare and Croom.
The car had been stolen from the UK earlier in 2018.
Following an investigation, gardaí say a man in his 30s was arrested yesterday.
He was detained at Newcastle West Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He has since been charged in connection with the burglary and is due to appear before Newcastle West District Court this morning.
