A man has been arrested in connection with the abduction and assault of Kevin Lunney.

The Quinn Industrial Holdings executive was kidnapped and brutally assaulted by a group of masked men last September.

The attack was the most serious act in a campaign of intimidation against executives at QIH that has been ongoing for several years.

Gardaí say a man in his mid-50s has been arrested today in relation to the abduction.

He's being held at Cavan Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
