A man arrested in connection with the assault and attempted abduction of a woman in Dublin has been released from custody.

On Monday morning, a woman in her 60s was approached by a man in the Martin’s Grove/Blackhorse Avenue area who tried to force her into the boot of a car.

A 20-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident, and was held overnight in Blanchardstown Garda Station.

He was released this morning, with gardaí saying a file is currently being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the Blackhorse Avenue area at the time of the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information can contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01-666-7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111, or any Garda station.
