A man in his late thirties has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in Co Limerick in 2017.

The incident occurred in the Knockacraig area of Drumcollagher in July 2017.

The man was arrested at Dublin airport yesterday after being extradited from Scotland on Friday.

He was then transferred to Newcastle West Garda Station.

He has been charged in relation to the incident and is due before Limerick District Court this afternoon.
