A man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault that left another man in a coma in Cork city.
Gardaí said the 40-year-old man was assaulted on Patrick Street in Cork shortly after 9pm on September 12th.
It happened close to the junction with Academy Street.

He was Cork University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition nearly four weeks later.
This morning, Gardaí arrested a man in his 40s in connection with the incident.
He is being questioned at Gurranabraher Garda Station on the north side of Cork city.
