A man in his 20s has been arrested at Dublin Airport in connection with a burglary and an assault in Co Tipperary last month.
In the first incident, two men entered a house at Woodview Close in Nenagh at around 3.30am on December 23rd.
A man in his 30s was assaulted and sustained a number of cuts and bruises but did not require medical treatment.
On the same date at around 11.30pm, a man was assaulted with what is believed to be a hammer outside a house in Yewston Estate in Nenagh.
The man was brought to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries and was later discharged.
Gardaí from Nenagh subsequently carried out an operation with the assistance of Gardaí from the immigration bureau at Dublin Airport yesterday morning.
A man in his 20s was arrested as he was about to check in to board a flight.
He was brought to Nenagh Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before Limerick District Court today.
