A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter over the death of footballer Emiliano Sala.
Dorset Police said the 64-year-old from North Yorkshire was arrested and released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Simon Huxter the man is assisting police with their inquiries.
He said the man’s identity would not be revealed unless he is charged to appear in court.
Argentinean footballer Sala, 28, died in a private plane crash over the English Channel earlier this year – just days after completing his club record club record £15m (€17.2m) move from FC Nantes.
His body was brought in to Portland Port in Dorset on Thursday February 7th.
He was travelling in the private plane with pilot David Ibbotson when it crashed in near Alderney on January 21st.
Mr Ibbotson’s body was never found.
A postmortem examination confirmed Sala had died from "head and trunk injuries," Dorset Coroner's Court heard.
Detective Inspector Huxter said police have carrying out a “wide-ranging investigation” into the circumstances of the deaths in the months since.
He said family liaison officers have been keeping the families of both men updated on the investigation in the months since.
