A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal assault in Killorglin, County Kerry over the weekend.
32-year-old Stephen O’Connor was critically injured during an incident outside a fast food restaurant in Killorglin in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he died on Monday.
This morning, Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the incident. He is currently being held at Killarney Garda Station.
Gardaí said a post-mortem has been carried out on Mr O’Connor’s remains – however the results are not being released for operational reasons.
His family have asked for privacy at this time.
