A man has been arrested and a number of firearms seized following a search operation in Dublin this morning.
The operation began in the early hours and involved Gardaí from several units.
Officers from the Northern Division, supported by Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit, the Emergency Response Unit, the National Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the Garda Air Support Unit, as well as Gardaí from the Garda Dog and Mounted Units all assisted in the search.
A number of firearms and a quantity of ammunition were seized during the search in Northern Cross area of the city close to the N32.
A man in his late 20s was arrested at the scene
He is being detained at Coolock Garda station under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act.
Gardaí say the search is on-going.
