A man in his 40s has been arrested following a drug seizure at Rosslare Europort worth over €6 million in street value.
Revenue Officers seized drugs worth over €6,443,000 at Rosslare Europort yesterday evening.
The drugs seized include approximately 288.6kg of herbal cannabis, 72.8kg of cannabis resin and 3.3kg of cocaine.
The drugs were found onboard a freight unit which had earlier disembarked a ferry from Dunkirk, France.
Revenue said this was a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of Revenue's mobile x-ray scanner and detector dog Jasper.
A man, aged in his 40s, is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in County Wexford.
Gardaí also seized €32.8 million worth of suspected crystal meth at the port of Cork yesterday.
Two men, both aged in their 40s were arrested following the seizure and are being detained at Garda stations in Cork.
