A man has been arrested following a hostage situation in a nightclub in the Dutch town of Ede.
It's reported four people were being held hostage in the venue by a man "armed with explosives".
Dutch police said all hostages were released and one person has been arrested. It was unable to provide any additional comment.
Police also said there was "no indication of a terrorist motive”.
Images show two men leaving the nightclub with one put in handcuffs by police.
Three of the hostages were seen fleeing the building with their hands above their heads about an hour before the man was detained.
Reports suggest the man allegedly entered the nightclub at closing time and "threatened to blow the place up".
Images from the rural market town in the eastern Netherlands 85km from Amsterdam showed police officers and firefighters on the streets in the cordoned-off area.
The municipality said that all shops in the centre of Ede would remain closed.
Ede Mayor Rene Verhulst said the incident was “a terrible situation for all these people”.
“My concern and thoughts go out to them and their loved ones. I hope that the situation is now resolved quickly and safely,” he said.
Earlier, heavily armed officers cordoned off part of Ede and urged people to "stay away" from the area, adding: "Stay inside and don't come and watch".
Around 150 homes in Ede were also evacuated.
