A man has been arrested following a serious assault on a man in his early 20s in Naas yesterday afternoon.
The assault took place shortly before noon on Newbridge Road, near the Ardconagh Housing Estate.
The victim was approached by a lone male and hit in the face.
He was subsequently transported to Naas Hospital for treatment.
Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s and detained him at a Garda Station in Co. Kildare.
He is due to appear before the Naas District Court today.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to get in touch.
They are also asking any motorists who were travelling on the Newbridge Road near the Ardconagh Housing Estate to share any dash-cam footage they may have.
