A man has been arrested in County Carlow following the theft of a JCB digger early this morning.

Gardaí say they put a 'managed pursuit' of a 'heavy plant machine' in place, where the vehicle was eventually stopped and a man was arrested.

The vehicle is believed to have been stolen from the Tullow area this morning and footage of the chase was widely shared on social media.

The man is currently being detained at a Garda Station in Co. Carlow.
