Gardaí have charged a man following the death of a suspected gunman in a Dublin restaurant on Christmas Eve.
He will appear at a special sitting of the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am today, although investigations are still ongoing.
The man was arrested in connection to the death of Tristian Sherry, aged 26, who was stabbed multiple times in a steakhouse in Blanchardstown.
It is reported Mr Sherry walked into the restaurant with a machine gun and opened fire, injuring a man in his 40s.
Mr Sherry reportedly tried to flee but was disarmed and stabbed multiple times.
He was pronounced dead a short time later in hospital.
The attack has been linked to a criminal feud.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has described the incident as “shocking”, adding that he has visited the restaurant many times.
