Revenue officers seized €340,000 worth of cannabis in Dublin Airport.
The drugs were recovered during a stop-and-search of a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Los Angeles.
The passenger, a man is his 30s, was arrested and brought to a Dublin Garda Station, where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
This is the second instance large amounts of cannabis was discovered in Dublin Airport this month.
On July 11th, Revenue officers seized 32.5kg of cannabis with an estimated value of €650,000 at Dublin Airport.
The passenger caught in possession of the illicit drugs, a man in his late teens, had also arrived on a flight from LA.
The drugs were discovered concealed within vacuum-packed packages of the passenger’s luggage.
Both seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs.
