Gardaí say a man has been arrested for murder after a woman's body was found at a house in north Dublin.
The discovery was made in Raheny in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The scene is being preserved and the Garda Technical Bureau has arrived to carry out an examination.
It is understood the woman was stabbed to death.
Two children were in the house at the time of the incident.
The body of the dead woman remains at the scene and the office of the State Pathologist is to be notified this morning.
A man, aged in his 50s, has been arrested for murder and was taken to a Garda station in the north of the capital.
He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
