A man (52) has been arrested after firearms and ammunition were discovered in west Belfast.

Police made the discovery at a house in Forest Street last night.

Ammunition technical officers were called in to assist with examining a number of items - including suspected pipe bomb components.

A number of nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.

All items have now been removed for further examination.
