Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with a burglary in Marino.

Two masked men entered a house at Charlemont on Griffith Avenue last night, took the keys of a Mercedes car and left the scene.

Both males then left the scene in the Mercedes and a Mitsubishi Colt.

Gardaí were alerted immediately and pursued the vehicles which were travelling outbound on the M3.

A short time later the driver of the Mercedes lost control and crashed in the Damastown Industrial Estate.

A man fled but was later arrested and brought to Clontarf Garda station. He is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
