A man in his late teens has been arrested in a relation to a fatal Limerick crash last month.
He is currently being detained in a Garda Station in Limerick City.
Joe Drennan, aged 21, died following a two-vehicle crash on the Dublin Road in Castletroy at 9.50pm on October 13th.
The driver of one of the cars failed to remain at the scene, and a Garda spokesperson previously confirmed the incident was a hit-and-run.
The driver of the other car, a man in his 40s, and a female passenger were brought to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Mr Drennan was the current editor of the University of Limerick-based newspaper Limerick Voice.
He was also a contributing writer to Gay Community News (GCN), for which he was nominated for Journalist of the Year: National Media at 2023 Student Media Awards.
