Gardai in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a post office in Baldoyle.
Just before 1 o'clock this afternoon a number of men entered the post office and threatened staff - at least one of them was carrying a firearm.
The men left the premises without any money and got into a waiting car - believed to be a 08 OY black BMW 1 series which was last seen on Station Road in Portmarnock.
No one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired.
A 43 year old was arrested a short time later in Portmarnock - he's being detained at Coolock Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Any witnesses to the incident are being asked to come forward.
