A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on a Luas in Dublin yesterday evening.

Two men, both aged in their 40s, were injured in a fight at Mayor Street on the Luas Red Line yesterday evening.

They were taken to separate hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Luas Red Line services were disrupted last night as the scene was sealed off; however, they have since returned to normal.

One of the men was later arrested, He has since been released without charge and Gardaí said a file will be prepared for the DPP.

The investigation is ongoing.
