A man arrested as part of a Garda investigation into romance fraud has been released without charge.
The man in his 40s was arrested in the west Dublin area on suspicion of laundering the proceeds of romance fraud.
Gardaí believe the money came from romance fraud operations in numerous countries around the world dating back to November 2017.
Investigators say they have identified up to 15 people who were defrauded out of over €275,000.
The man was arrested on Monday and questioned at a Dublin Garda station.
He was released without charge last night with a file to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
