Gardaí investigating the murder of Alan Ryan in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with the investigation.
Ryan was known by detectives for his links with the Real IRA.
He died in Beaumont Hospital after being shot on Grange Lodge Avenue in Clongriffin on Monday afternoon.
It has emerged this evening that Gardaí arrested a man in his late 40s last night.
He is currently detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.
Although Gardaí have not disclosed what Garda station he is being held at.
Earlier this week Gardaí mounted a series of armed checkpoints across the north side of Dublin city following the shooting.
A burnt-out silver Volvo car was discovered by Gardaí on the Hole in the Wall Road shortly after the shooting.
