A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with an incident in Co Wexford in which a nine-year-old boy was attacked by a dog.
Alejandro Mizsan was seriously injured while playing with his friends close to his home in Enniscorthy on Sunday afternoon.
He is being treated at Crumlin Children's Hospital in Dublin.
Gardaí say as a result of an investigation into subsequent related matters, a man aged in his 20s was arrested on Tuesday morning under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
He is currently being held at Enniscorthy Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Officers say they are continuing to investigate all the circumstances of the incident and investigations are ongoing.
