A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Kevin Kearney in Belfast last year.
Kearney (46) was found dead in a lake in Alexandra Park a day after he had been shot while walking his dogs on October 8th.
Mr. Kearney took his daughter to school that day, returned home and at approximately 9am and took his two dogs for a walk in Alexandra Park.
A relative contacted police after the dogs returned without Mr. Kearney.
Both the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland Martin McGuinness and Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore condemned the murder.
The detained man (38) was arrested in north Belfast this morning. He is being held at Antrim Police Station.
He is also being questioned about an incident at a social club in Ardoyne on the October 14th last year, in which dissident republican threats were made to a number of people.
