Gardaí investigating the death of a man in a South Dublin suburb yesterday have made an arrest.
The man who's in his 30s was taken in for questioning after a man in his 60s died in hospital on Saturday evening.
He is believed to have been badly beaten at a flat in Terenure.
At around a quarter to six yesterday evening, Emergency Services were called to a flat in the Ashdale Gardens area of Terenure.
There they found a man in his 60s with severe head injuries.
He was taken by Ambulance to St. James’s Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
It's believed he suffered a serious beating.
A man in his 30's was arrested at the scene and is currently being questioned at Terenure Garda Station where he can be held for up to 24 hours.
The flat is still sealed off this morning.
The next step for investigators will be to carry out a full post-mortem to determine the exact cause of his
death.
