A man has been arrested and a rifle seized after shots were fired in the direction of gardaí in Co Donegal overnight.
Just after midnight this morning, officers responded to reports of shots fired by a man armed with a rifle on Mill Road in Glenties.
There was a short standoff at the scene and shots were fired in the direction of gardaí.
Nobody was injured but a patrol car was damaged.
A man in his early 20s was arrested and a rifle, hunting knife and a number of rounds of ammunition were seized.
During a follow-up search of a house on Main Street, another gun was seized and two men in their 20s and 40s were arrested.
All three men are being questioned at Ballyshannon Garda Station, where they're being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.
Gardaí say a number of scenes have been preserved for examination.
They also say no shots were fired by officers during the incident.
