Gardaí in Blanchardstown have arrested a man following an overnight stabbing in the Latchford area of Dublin.

A man, aged in his 30s, was found with a number of apparent stab wounds at Littlepace Road at around 2:45am this morning.

He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel, and taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital. His condition is understood to be stable.

During a follow up search, a man (32) was arrested at a house in Latchford Park short time later.

He is currently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Blanchardstown garda station.

The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination and enquiries are ongoing.
