A man has been arrested following a four hour stand-off with Gardaí at a house in Co Sligo.

Officers were called to the scene of the incident in Calry at around 7.00pm on Friday.

A man had barricaded himself into a house with access to guns.

A Garda negotiator was called to the scene, which was resolved peacefully just before 11.00pm.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Ballymote Garda station.

Gardaí say no one was injured during this operation.
